A Zutons formed inside Liverpool around 2001, taking their title from either Magic Band guitarist Bill Harkleroad, better known as Zoot Horn (or even "Zuton") Rollo. Dave McCabe experienced antecedently been within Tramp Attack, & Russ and Sean were in The Large Children (using Howie Payne of The Stands).
